Community transformation looks different in every community. When ACTS talks about transformation, it refers to entering areas of extreme poverty and working to ease the social, physical, spiritual, and economic challenges people face daily.

ACTS supports communities through practical, sustainable projects such as:

  • Building schools for children ages four to seven, giving them access to education while allowing parents time to work and improve their families’ quality of life.
  • Creating safe, fenced play areas so children can play freely without danger from roaming animals.
  • Constructing kitchens to provide warm, nutritious meals to children each school day.
  • Drilling wells to provide clean, accessible drinking water and reduce the long journeys women make to collect it.
  • Installing handwashing stations and teaching hygiene practices to prevent waterborne diseases.
  • Planting small gardens to supplement meals with fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Erecting latrines to improve sanitation.
  • Educating parents to recognize signs of malaria, malnutrition, and parasite infections.
  • Providing solar power to bring light to darkness and electric cooking in lieu of fuel wood burning.

While many of these initiatives may seem basic, they address critical needs long unmet in the communities ACTS serves. By meeting these needs, ACTS helps raise living standards and restore hope.
